Hosea for Kids
As I mentioned in yesterday's post, this Sunday we're starting a new sermon series in the Old Testament book of Hosea. If you're a parent or caregiver, you might be thinking that Hosea isn't the most kid-friendly book to preach through. Hosea definitely has some challenging themes that we'll need to carefully define and explain to our kids. At the same time, Hosea is one of the greatest depictions of God's faithful love for an unfaithful people—a message all of us, kids and adults alike, can take to heart.
I appreciated this article on why one children's ministry volunteer loves teaching the book of Hosea to kids: The (Unlikely) Selection of Scripture I Love Teaching to Kids.
In preparation for Sunday, The Gospel Project also has a good video for kids (and adults) that offers a big picture of what the book of Hosea is all about. I think your kids will like it—and you will, too! I'd encourage you to watch it together before Sunday.
Looking forward to jumping into this book together!
